Letters for Home

Living for three decades in different countries around the world led me to become interested in communication and language, and to inquire about how language shapes our memories and identities.

Immersed in a nomadic life, without roots and far from home and my native language, creating large letters to my closest relatives was a way to summon them in their absence, to feel them close and to momentarily dissolve the separation. Writing letters with paper became not only a form of catharsis but also a tool to reflect on topics of my interest and personal experiences, such as migration, memory, language and identity.
